Cobblemon Beginner Guide: Your First Hours

Your first hours in the Cobblemon Mod set the pace for the whole world. Minecraft survival still matters, but now you have a party to build too. Here is a practical order of play that avoids the usual early frustrations.

1. Choose your starter

When you join a new world, Cobblemon opens the starter screen. Pick one you will enjoy using for a long time, not just the one with the best type on paper. Your starter will carry you through early fights while you gather resources.

2. Find apricorn trees

Apricorns grow on small trees scattered through many biomes and come in several colors. They are the base ingredient for Poké Balls. Collect every apricorn you see during the first day and plant a few near your base so you have a steady supply.

3. Craft your first Poké Balls

Open your recipe book or a recipe viewer like EMI to see the current Poké Ball recipes. Basic balls are cheap, so make a stack before you head out. Different apricorn colors unlock different ball types later.

4. Catch smart, not fast

Weaken a wild Pokémon in battle before throwing a ball. Lower health means better catch chances. Do not waste balls on a Pokémon at full health unless you are feeling lucky.

5. Build a Healing Machine

Your party does not recover by itself in the way you might expect. A Healing Machine at your base restores your team fully. Make it one of your first crafting goals, right after basic tools.

6. Use the PC

Your party holds six Pokémon. Everything else goes to the PC, which works like storage boxes you can open from a PC block. Organize early: one box for battlers, one for riding, one for breeding candidates.

7. Set up a Pasture Block

Pasture Blocks let Pokémon roam around your base instead of sitting in storage. They make your world feel alive and form the basis of popular add-ons like Cobbreeding.

What to do next

  • Explore different biomes. Spawns depend heavily on location, time and weather.
  • Look for ruins and fossil sites for rare finds.
  • Once you have a sturdy team, read our riding guide to start traveling on your Pokémon.
